According to a top Volkswagen manager, speaking to Automobilwoche, south eastern US states such as Georgia and South Carolina have the best change of winning the new plant.
Automobilwoche reported that the supervisory board will consider analysis of prospective locations at its meeting to coincide with the Volkswagen annual general meeting this week.
The Automobilwoche source said the idea is to present a package of options that can be decided upon at the following supervisory board meeting, ahead of the summer shutdown.
