The Detroit Free Press said United Auto Workers (UAW) union negotiations with American Axle have progressed in fits and starts, and the two sides are to meet again on Tuesday.

GM spokesman Dan Flores told the paper that GM has resumed previously axed shifts at the Oshawa, Ontario, car and truck plants, and at the Wentzville stamping and assembly plants in Missouri, as well as full production in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. Another Wentzville shift should resume next week.

GM didn’t say how it has been able to acquire enough parts to resume production at the plants, the Detroit Free Press noted.
