Mercedes-Benz is launching a European design competition to mark the introduction of the GLK SUV.

Teams from six European universities will develop products such as furniture or other everyday objects that reflect the GLK design.
Winners will receive a EUR10,000 prize and their designs will exhibited alongside the GLK at national launch events.
The participating universities are: the Istituto Europeo di Design in Barcelona, the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, the Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften in Hamburg, the École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL), the Istituto Marangoni in Milan, and the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Design fans are also being a chance to win a trip to the studios to see work in progress.
