The Serbian government will hold talks in Moscow next Monday on scrapping custom duties on cars imported to Russia, Serbia’s minister of economy and regional development has said.

Mladjan Dinkic said the Serb proposal is in line with a free trade agreement, signed between Serbia and Russia in 2000, that allows Serbia to export goods to Russia without duties.
Volkswagen is said to be planning to build a plant in Serbia and is interested in supplying duty free cars to Russia.
Earlier this year Fiat signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Serbian government to establish a joint venture with local maker Zastava.
