BMW has reported strong sales growth in China this year. The company says that its January-September group sales in mainland China rose 30.4% to 47,342 units.

“We are looking forward to a strong performance in 2008,” Christoph Stark, president and chief executive of BMW Group Region China, said in a statement on the sales.
Sales of BMW brand vehicles rose 29% to 44,980 units in the nine-month period, including 25,026 BMW 3 Series and 5 Series made in China, the German automaker said in the statement.
Sales of Mini cars rose 65.9% to 2,362 units from 1,424 in the January-September period of 2007, it said.
