It is cutting output of some Infiniti models by 28,000 units at its Tochigi factory over a period of five months from next month.
Nissan is also cutting 37,000 Murano and Rogue SUVs from the schedule at Fukuoka from November to March.
Nissan’s US sales plunged 34.2% year on year to 59,570 last month, according to WardsAuto.com data. Year to date sales were down 3.4% to 785,774.
Nissan, which is rolling out the Infiniti brand across Europe, has also recently announced cuts at its UK and Spanish factories. It is laying off almost 1,700 workers in Spain.
