The production start at the EUR1.1bn plant in Nosovice is three months earlier than originally scheduled.
“If mass production begins, sales of i30 in Europe will surge,” a Hyundai Motor official said.
Affiliate Kia already produces the Ceed line, which shares its platform with the i30, at a plant in Slovakia.
