Shanghai Volkswagen (SVW) will showcase two hydrogen fuel cell-powered cars modeled on Passat Lingyu, a midsize sedan, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, according to the Shanghai Securities News.

The cars were assembled in Tongji University, a well-known university in Shanghai. Their hydrogen fuel cells were designed by Shanghai Shenli High Tech Co., Ltd., a local designer, manufacturer, and seller of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells.
Established in June 1998, Shenli High Tech has been specialised in the research and development of PEM fuel cells. It got a venture investment of more than CNY50m in 2006.
