Johnson Controls on Tuesday said it is planning a $90m auto battery facility in Zhejiang province in the east of the country.


The interiors and battery specialist said it would start construction of the plant in January next year with production scheduled to begin in June 2010, according to Reuters.


The facility, with annual production capacity of 4m batteries, is subject to regulatory approval.


Johnson Controls already has an interiors joint venture with Chery Automobile in China.
