As the group’s European headquarters and technical centre, it will accommodate about 120 transmission systems and TorqTransfer systems employees including programme management teams; advanced manufacturing and product engineering groups; and sales and marketing operations.
The drivetrain group has seven manufacturing plants in Germany, France, Monaco and the United Kingdom. BorgWarner itself operates technical centres and manufacturing plants in 24 locations in Europe.
Cindy Niekamp, president and general manager, BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems, said: “As we build our all-wheel drive and synchroniser expertise in Europe, this centre allows us to become faster, more responsive and more effective.”
