Henk van Leuven, head of Iveco in the Benelux and Scandinavian markets, has been appointed managing director of the truck maker’s operations in the UK.
His experience in the automotive industry includes senior positions with Bova, Iveco Netherlands and DAF prior to joining Iveco in 2001, when he took on the role of commercial director of the heavy truck business unit in Turin.
After overseeing the launch of the new Stralis model line, he went on to develop Iveco’s dealer network in Russia, before being appointed commercial director of Irisbus’ European operations in 2003.
Since starting his current role two years ago, he has successfully pioneered Iveco’s heavy truck sales strategy in the Benelux countries, with the Stralis enjoying a significant increase in market share.
Van Leuven arrives in the UK a month ahead of the local Stralis heavy truck range launch.

By GlobalData“It’s a very exciting time for Iveco,” said van Leuven. “The launch of the new Stralis will see Iveco selling what is without doubt the strongest product line-up in its history, and also the most modern commercial vehicle range of any manufacturer on the market.”
“It also comes just six months after the arrival of the new Daily, which is already achieving its best-ever market share of nearly 12% in the fiercely competitive 3.5 tonne sector,” he added.
Based at Iveco’s UK headquarters in Watford, van Leuven’s new role will give him greater influence within the Iveco Group, representing three major markets responsible for total new vehicle sales exceeding 23,000 units annually.
