6,660), is Renault’s cheapest car in Brazil.
The cheapest model available from dealers is the Clio RN that costs 18,690 Reais (about $US 7,325).

Buyers can order a Clio Yahoo from their own computers or at Internet terminals in Renault dealerships.
The Clio Yahoo marks the start of Renault do Brasil’s plans to increase e-commerce in Brazil.

“Two of three potential car buyers have computers with Internet access at home and they are happy to buy vehicles directly on the web”, said Renault do Brasil e-commerce manager Guillaume Latte.
“Brazilians are not afraid of the Internet and like to buy by Internet; they’re unique in the world”, said Yahoo Latin America general director Roberto Alonso.
Three major car makers already sell cars directly to Brazilian buyers via the Internet and 11,000 units were shifted using this channel last year. General Motors offers the Opel Corsa-based Chevrolet Celta, Ford the Fiesta Street and Fiat the Palio Young and Uno-based Mille Smart.
“This year we expect that about 100,000 units will be sold directly through the Internet and we plan to shift 4,200 Clio Yahoos in the second half of 2001”, said Renault do Brasil marketing director Antonio Megale.
Brazilian car makers plan to sell about 250,000 vehicles on the Internet in 2002.
On the Clio Yahoo website, buyers can choose their colour (only four are offered), order optional air conditioning and choose the payment method and the dealer from which to take delivery.
In future, Renault and Yahoo Brasil plan to add links for special promotions and a chatroom.
“We want to create a Clio Yahoo community”, Megale said.
