Output of road vehicles in Romania increased 11.4% to 8,574 in June 2001 from
7,698 in June 2000, according to provisional totals provided to just-auto.com
by the Association of Automobile Producers and Importers in Romania.

Volume expanded: 16.9% for commercial vehicles to 1,526 from 1,305; and 10.2%
for cars to 7,045 from 6,393. Bus units were negligible – 3 in 2001, 0 in 2000.

Year-to-date, output still fell 2.3% for all vehicles to 35,856 in 2001 from
36,695 in 2000. Production decreased: 8.4% for commercial vehicles to 5,494
from 5,999; and 1.1% for cars to 30,340 from 30,678. Buses totalled 22 this
year, 18 last year.
