A
total of 740 employees applied for an early retirement program offered by Isuzu
Motors Ltd today, forcing the ailing truck and SUV maker to stop accepting applications
on the first day, Kyodo News reported, citing unnamed company officials.
According to the news agency, the Isuzu officials said that employees in their
50s accounted for about 70% of the applicants and those in their 30s about 20%.
