The net profit of Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ rose 88% year on year to 5.1bn rubles in January-June, as calculated under Russian Accounting Standards (RAS), the company said on Thursday.

AvtoVAZ’ net profit was 4.46bn rubles in April-June, compared with 645m rubles in January-March, Prime-Tass reported.
AvtoVAZ currently produces about 70% of all Russian domestic passenger cars and accounts for 40% – 42% of total passenger cars sold in the country.
