BMW’s top purchasing executive Klaus Richter is leaving the company to take up a new position at aircraft maker Airbus.

Richter will form part of a new team appointed by new Airbus president and chief executive officer Tom Enders.
BMW confirmed that Richter will leave the company around early November. His replacement has not been named.
Richter was appointed head of procurement at BMW in October 2004, succeeding Gerhard Schuff.
