The EUR1bn factory has been operating for less than a year and now produces one car a minute; equivalent to 100 cars per worker per year, generating an ultimate capacity of 300,000 units.
Innovations include 100% automation ratio for all welding operations carried out by 310 robots and the cars are sold with a seven year warranty.
The “environmentally conscious” plant recycles steam from production processes rather than using a separate heating source.
