After sales of 818,200 units in the first 10 months, Ralph Weyler, head of sales and marketing, said that for the full year Audi is expecting to exceed 950,000 global sales.


European sales were up 2.5% overall to 55,400 units. In the first 10 months sales were up 5.2% to 589,700. The highest growth in Europe was recorded in Great Britain where sales were up 12.8% to 22,502 units. In the year-to-date Audi has sold 89,928 cars here, an increase of 16.4% on a year ago. In Germany sales in October were up 5.5% to 23,742 units. Year-to-date Audi’s sales at home are down 0.9% to 210,183 units. In a statement Audi said that its German market share hit a record high of 7.9% for the month.


Audi also saw sales grow in North America. In October it sold 9,283 cars, an increase of over 10% compared to a year ago. Year-to-date Audi has sold 94,219 cars there, also an increase of 10%.


The highest growth region was Asia Pacific, where Audi now sells more cars than it does in North America. Sales were up 17.9% in October to 10,100 units. Year-to-date sales were 110,900 units, up 22.5% on a year ago. The biggest market is China where sales this year were up 25.9% to 83,863 units. Audi expects to sell more than 100,000 units in China this year.
