Sales of Korean cars in Russia soared last year as the price of Russian-made vehicles increased, according to Reuters citing a report by the Korea International Trade Association.

Hyundai’s sales in Russia increased 72.5% to 81,000 vehicles, making it the largest import make.
GM Daewoo sold 49,000 units, up 38%, ranking sixth among import makes. Kia Motors came ninth with 25,000 units, up 29%.
Total automobile sales in Russia rose 9.8% to 1.77m units. Imports rose 50.1% while sales of domestically produced vehicles fell 4.5%, according to the report.
