The metal processor, which recently opened an office in The Netherlands, said the purchase will significantly increase its presence as an international supplier of precision assemblies and stamped metal products for the automotive, office furniture and utility vehicle industries.

The proposed purchase of the EANSA plant in Mexico City will increase Gill’s total employment from 730 to 1,030 and its total manufacturing space by 100,000 square feet, the company said.

In addition to similar products manufactured by Gill, the Mexican plant has processes such as wire and tube bending and other products, including seat frames and tracks.

“The acquisition of the EANSA plant fits in very well with Gill Industries’ overall product mix and expertise as a global supplier of stamped products and assemblies,” the company’s president and chief operating officer, Richard Perreault, said.

“Our goal is to bring additional business to the EANSA plant as a way of providing the highest quality products to our customers at the best possible price points. The acquisition will help position Gill Industries in a low-cost global environment.”

Terms of the sale were not disclosed. The operation is expected to be completed by 31 January, Gill said in a statement cited by autonewsmexico.com.
