Elliot will work as executive director, sales, marketing, after sales and network development for Chrysler Group in the country.
The rapidly expanding automotive market in China means it is considered a main area of opportunity by the company.
Elliott joined DaimlerChrysler in late 1999, when the Mercedes-Benz UK and Chrysler Jeep companies merged, and the company said he has been instrumental to its growth and success. Marketing teams will report to UK president and CEO Wilfried Steffen until Elliot’s replacement is found.
