PSA’s joint venture with Dongfeng Motor, Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroen has recorded a profit for the second half of 2005, although it still recorded a loss for the full year, according to The Standard newspaper.

The venture posted unaudited net profit of 270-300 million yuan (US$33-37m) for the second half of the financial year, bringing its full year net loss to 450-380 million yuan.


Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen aims to sell 220,000 vehicles this year, up 57% from 140,000 units last year. It also plans to launch five new models this year and next year.


Engine production capacity has been expanded to about 400,000 units annually.
