Online car sales outfit OneSwoop has apologised to its customers after experiencing problems with some of its European dealerships.

In an e-mail sent to customers the e-forecourt operation said it “apologised for the delay and any inconvenience it may cause”.

“Since our launch we have experienced huge demand for our service,” the e-mail said.

“As a result, our European dealers have not, in some cases, been able to return quotes as quickly as we and they would like.”

One reader told The Register that he tried three times to get a quote for a car but failed to receive a reply on each occasion.

Hugh Morris, CE of OneSwoop, admitted that there was a backlog but said that dealers on the Continent — where cars are cheaper than in the UK for the same spec — were working through the problems.

The worst backlogs appear to involve orders for VW, Peugeot and Ford cars.

OneSwoop said it will process requests “free-of-charge” for anyone who has been affected.
