According to news reports in Japan, Toyota is considering building the plant for its subsidiary as part of a more comprehensive strategy for North America.


According to Nihon Keizai Shimbun, the plant would be in Ontario and assemble around 1,500 trucks a year for the Canadian market.


Engines and stampings would come from Toyota’s plant in California, which currently assembles Hino trucks for North America.
