Swedish commercial vehicle and passenger car component supplier Haldex has reported a 27% increase in after-tax earnings to SEK270m (US$34m) for full year 2005.

Net sales increased 11% to SEK7,486 (6,759). After currency adjustment, this increase was 9 %. Orders increased 10% to SEK7,592 (6,923).
During the year Haldex won large orders from Kamaz for brake adjusters and disc brake systems, valued at over SEK100m a year. It also won an order from an undisclosed car manufacturer for its four-wheel drive system, with an estimated value of SEK1,200m over five years from 2008.
In China, production of brake and hydraulic components started at a new plant in Suzhou and a purchasing office was set up for both global and local supplies.
A contract was signed with a major global diesel engine manufacturer to supply air
compressors for the North American operation. Deliveries started in late 2005 with value estimated at over SEK500 for the life of the contract. To produce the new compressor, a licence and production agreement with Chinese ASIMCO was signed.
For 2006 Haldex is targeting sales of SEK8,000m.
