Tata Automotive Components Systems (TACO) has formed a joint venture with Japan’s GS Yuasa International to make automotive batteries, reported Reuters news agency.

The Tata Motors subsidiary told Reuters that the equal joint venture, to be called Tata AutoComp GY Batteries, is to make batteries for auto manufacturers and the retail market.


The new company will set up an automotive battery greenfield plant in Pune, India, with an annual peak capacity of two million units by November, according to reports.
