He will take up his new role at the NFDA’s strategy meeting on 13 July.
Sue Robinson, director of the NFDA, said Williams will be an important figure-head for the franchised sector.
She noted: “I am delighted to welcome Paul as the NFDA’s new chairman. His considerable experience and success in our sector will be invaluable as the NFDA leads dealers through an era of unprecedented change and a new block exemption regulation looms on the horizon.”
Williams succeeds Alec Murray, who has worked for the Caledonia and Quicks retail groups, who announced his retirement in June.
