The strike at parts supplier CF Gomma halted the first shift at Fiat’s Melfi plant, maker of Grande Punto sedans, and at Termini Imerese, producer of Lancia Ypsilon sedans, according to Reuters.
Fiat’s Mirafiori, Pomigliano and Sevel Val di Sangro plants closed from the shortage on Tuesday afternoon and are still halted, the spokesman told the news agency.
Based in the northern Italian city of Brescia, CF Gomma makes rubber components such as seals and brake hoses.
