Talks between the two giant auto-making groups began last Friday about a possible alliance, which had initially been proposed by GM’s biggest shareholder, Kirk Kerkorian, last month.


According to Reuters, Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn told a news conference: “”We are not making a capital investment into GM as the first condition or element of any alliance. This was not discussed with the GM team, and I think it is premature to talk about it.”
