Vietnam’s new vehicle market declined by 6% to 24,356 units in June 2026 from 25,793 units in the same month last year, according to wholesale data released by the Vietnam Automotive Manufacturers Association (VAMA). The data do not include some major players in the market, including domestic automaker VinFast, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, and other overseas brands.

The latest government data showed that GDP growth accelerated to 8.4% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, up from a revised 7.9% in the first quarter, with all sectors of the economy performing strongly.
