Sales of new motorcycles in Indonesia rose 13% month on month to 275,869 units in January thanks to lower interest rates, car assemblers’ association Gaikindo said.

According to Dow Jones, Gaikindo said market leader PT Astra International sold 151,154 motorcycles during the month, up 26% from 120,048 in December.
Astra, which makes and sells Honda motorcycles said its sales rose 29% to 138,103 units in January from 107,043 a month earlier, the report added.
