Bosch and Mitsubishi Corporation have secured the first customer for their battery-service joint venture in China, marking the commercial rollout of their battery-as-a-service offering for electric truck fleets.
The launch was marked by the opening of an energy service hub in Chizhou, operated by Shanghai Lingzhou Technology.

It is the first location to deploy technology developed by Bosch MC Battery Service Innovations, the companies’ joint venture.
The hub allows electric trucks to swap or recharge batteries and is currently serving more than 100 trucks a day.
It also features AI-based charging and an integrated inspection system designed to strengthen battery monitoring and protection.
Bosch and Mitsubishi are entering a fast-expanding heavy-duty EV market in China.
Bosch said nearly 30% of heavy-duty trucks sold in the country in 2025 were new energy vehicles, and it expects fully electric models to account for more than half of new truck sales by 2030.
Market data from GlobalData, parent of Just Auto, show that China has recorded annual heavy-truck sales above 900,000 units in recent years, with volumes recovering to more than 1.1 million in 2025.
The joint venture’s service is aimed at one of the biggest challenges facing fleet operators: managing uncertainty around battery degradation and the vehicle’s residual value.
Bosch said its “Battery in the Cloud” platform forms the foundation of the offer, using software to determine battery state of health, project future deterioration, and improve charging performance.
Bosch Power Solutions division president Thomas Pauer said: “With this service, Bosch and Mitsubishi Corporation can create real added value for fleets. Although the state of health can decline due to aging and many charging cycles, our solution allows fleet operators to keep an eye on the battery condition of their vehicles – a decisive criterion for the everyday suitability and total cost of ownership of a fleet.”
Bosch MC Battery Service Innovations China unit general manager Qian Yang said: “Our service hits a local nerve: We support battery-electric vehicles in the fleet business. This holistic approach accelerates the electrification of fleets and optimizes the entire battery lifecycle. The combined expertise of Mitsubishi and Bosch is a perfect match for our customers.”
In addition to charging and battery swapping, Bosch said the data generated by the system can help expand aftermarket offerings, including connected insurance, vehicle maintenance, and battery servicing.
Bosch and Mitsubishi have been developing the battery-service business together since 2019, and the companies said earlier pilot operations had already delivered encouraging results.
