Japanese automaker Honda Motor Company reported that its global production fell by 5% to 270,008 vehicles in February 2026, from 284,232 units a year earlier. Production in Japan continued to recover from the semiconductor shortages in the fourth quarter of last year, with output rising by 9% to 67,550 units, while overseas output dropped by almost 9% to 202,458 units.
In the first two months of the year, Honda’s global output was up by 1.7% to 544,354 units, with output in Japan rebounding by almost 11% to 118,631 units, while overseas output fell by 5% to 425,723 units.

Output in North America continued to rebound year-to-date, rising by almost 16% to 280,979 units, driven by a 34% surge in US output to 176,744 units. This was offset by a 29% plunge in output in Asia to 123,471 units, including a 27% drop in China to 64,774 units.
Exports from Japan increased by almost 9% to 14,473 units in the first two months of the year, including 5,888 shipments to Europe, 1,661 units to the US and 6,924 units to other markets, including Asia.
