Chinese state-owned automaker GAC Group and Huawei Technologies Company have jointly launched two new battery electric vehicle (BEV) brands, the ‘Qijing’ for the domestic market and ‘Aistaland’ for overseas markets. Huawei said that the new Chinese brand refers to the “opening of new horizons,” while the overseas brand is short for “AI Start New Land, symbolising the arrival of a new era of intelligent mobility.”
The first model under the new up-market smart BEV brands, the GT7, was unveiled this week, with the company already taking pre-orders. Huawei said the GT7 brings together its advanced Qiankun computing platform and GAC’s vehicle manufacturing expertise. Several other models are planned under the Qijing/Aistaland brands, including a smart battery-powered SUV scheduled to be released later this year.

The GT7 is a four-door fast-back sedan with a sporty design, measuring 5.05 metres in length and 1.98 metres wide, with a 3-metre wheelbase. The Qiankun Chitu computing platform integrates the HarmonyOS-based digital cockpit and Huawei’s AI assistant, and features “cutting-edge perception hardware, including a handle (LiDAR) of 896 lines, considered the most advanced mass production sensor for vehicles.”
The GT7 is powered by CATL’s newly developed Qijin Cell-to-Pack 3.0 batteries, which support fast-charging. The vehicle, which is based on an 800 V high voltage architecture, can also support Level 3 autonomous driving when regulations allow it.
