The agreement is intended to support vehicle maintenance and performance across Kia’s global operations.

The two companies have maintained a global cooperation framework since 2011.

Kia ownership management sub-division head Dong-Hwan Hwang said: “By working closely with TotalEnergies, we will continue to elevate service quality, accelerate our progress in the sustainable mobility space, and deliver greater value and confidence to our customers worldwide.”

The latest extension ensures ongoing availability of lubrication products throughout the lifecycle of Kia vehicles.

Kia stated that the agreement supports its after-sales operations by allowing dealers to deliver consistent service standards.

Joint marketing efforts and collaborative projects developed over the past 15 years will also continue under the updated terms, with an emphasis on maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction across markets.

Both companies said the partnership remains central to Kia’s efforts to support customers throughout vehicle ownership.

The updated agreement retains the existing supply structure while extending cooperation through to 2031.

TotalEnergies Lubrifiants automotive vice president Elodie Luce added: “This renewed commitment strengthens our ability to accelerate the development of cutting-edge lubricant solutions tailored to the rapidly evolving demands of modern powertrains, including the latest hybrid and electric technologies.”

Earlier this month, Kia Corporation introduced an updated version of its Niro small crossover, which will now be offered exclusively as a hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV).

First launched in 2016, the model has recorded cumulative sales of more than 1.2 million units over ten years.

Kia confirmed it has discontinued plans for a battery-powered variant of the model, aligning with its strategy to develop only battery electric vehicles (BEVs) that are purpose-built.
