It will begin in selected parts of Jumeirah before expanding city-wide, subject to regulatory clearance and performance assessments.
Fully driverless vehicles will appear in the Uber app, with passengers requesting Uber Comfort or UberX trips in the service zone potentially matched with an Apollo Go car, or able to select an “Autonomous” option directly.
Fleet management will be handled by third-party operator New Horizon.
The project supports Dubai’s ambition for autonomous travel to account for 25% of all journeys by 2030.
Baidu vice president and Intelligent Driving Group overseas business unit general manager Nan Yang said: “Bringing Apollo Go to Dubai via the Uber platform marks a pivotal step in our mission to provide safe, efficient, and accessible autonomous mobility worldwide.”
The announcement builds on a December update in which the companies said they intended to introduce the service in London, as well as the January opening of Apollo Go Park in Dubai,
That was described as the group’s first overseas operations and management hub.
Apollo Go said it has recorded more than 240 million autonomous kilometres worldwide, including over 140 million kilometres in fully driverless operation.
The company added that the service now runs in 22 cities, has surpassed 250,000 weekly rides and had completed more than 17 million trips by 31 October 2025.
Uber Autonomous global head Sarfraz Maredia added: “We’re excited to partner with Baidu as we continue to grow our autonomous footprint across Dubai. Just as we helped millions of people try out EVs for the first time, we will expand consumer access to autonomous technology in major cities around the world.”
The partners described the Dubai launch as the next stage in their global collaboration, aimed at extending autonomous ride-hailing through Uber’s platform into further international markets.
