Renault is no longer considering taking ownership of the former Daewoo plant in Craiova, Romania.

Luc-Alexandre Menard, head of Renault subsidiary Dacia, told industry newspaper Automotive News Europe (ANE) in Paris that, while Renault has been one of the bidders for the plant, the Romanian government will sell the plant in the next few weeks.

Instead of acquiring the plant, Renault will expand the Dacia plant in Pitesti to meet booming demand for the Logan.

Other bidders for the plant include GM and Ford.
