Although Mazda UK on Monday told just-auto that the new CX-9 crossover is for the North American market only, a report on Tuesday said the car would also be built exclusively in right-hand drive for Australia.

Noting that Australia will be the world’s first right-hand drive market to receive the CX-7 (from mid-November), John Mellor’s GoAuto news, an electronic publication, said Mazda Australia had confirmed that the larger 3.5-litre V6-powered CX-9 seven-seater would arrive ‘down under’ early in 2008.
Mazda on Monday built the first CX-9 destined for North America.
