The collaboration between the companies was previously hinted at with the announcement of a CV production base in South Asia.

Robo.ai, a robotics company, said that the JV will utilise the JW Group’s manufacturing offerings as well as its international distribution network to create tailored products for markets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

Robo.ai will provide support in capital markets, brand development, and market growth within the Middle East and on a global scale.

The JV’s proposed product lineup includes the “RO1 Green Smart Luxury Coach Series”, which features new energy coaches ranging from six to 12 m for various services including tourism, commuting, and intercity travel.

Robo.ai noted that these coaches will be equipped with safety features such as full-load-bearing structures and frontal collision protection, as well as integrated digital technologies to ensure reliability across diverse driving conditions.

The “RO2 Green Smart City Bus Series” will cater to the urban public transport sector, offering nine to 12m new energy buses with driver-assist systems to improve safety.

Additionally, the “RO3 Premium Business Vehicle Series” will target executive and corporate clients, focusing on a combination of safety and comfort for business travel.

JW Group CEO Javed Afridi said: “The creation of RoBUS will accelerate the adoption of green and smart commercial vehicles.

“By establishing a shared intelligent manufacturing platform, we look forward to collaborating with Robo.ai to build a highly influential commercial vehicle hub to serve global markets.”

In conjunction with the establishment of JV, Robo.ai has appointed River Zhang as its chief industrial officer and RoBUS president.

He worked as a senior executive at Ford, Nio, and Volvo.

Zhang said: “The establishment of RoBUS is a key initiative supporting UAE’s ‘We the UAE 2031’ national vision and our goal to create a green and smart commercial vehicle platform.

“Following Robo.ai’s recent investment in Arkreen, a DePIN (Decentralised Physical Infrastructure Network) technology company, our smart vehicles are envisioned not only as carriers of green mobility but also as future-ready assets seamlessly integrated into intelligent economic ecosystems.”
