
South Korean tyre manufacturer, Kumho Tire Company, has signed an agreement with local autonomous driving technology company Autonomous A2Z (A2Z) to collaborate on the development of autonomous vehicles and related tyres.
The two companies have agreed to work together in the development, testing, and evaluation of autonomous vehicles and purpose-designed tyres; in the establishment of a stable supply chain; and also in sales and marketing. Through their collaboration, they aim to accelerate the commercialization of autonomous vehicles and improve their global competitiveness.

A2Z is a leading South Korean autonomous driving technology company with a fleet of 62 vehicles in operation in the country, with 740,000 km of cumulative self-driving miles to-date. This also makes it leader in technical verification, including for autonomous vehicle tyres.
Kumho has agreed to become the sole supplier of tyres for A2Z’s autonomous vehicles, starting with tyres for the company’s Roy Level 4 autonomous vehicle showcased at the APEC 2025 summit, and to develop next-generation autonomous vehicle tyres, including airless and smart tyres optimized for autonomous vehicles.
