“We estimate about 7% growth in our production next year … after having jumped two months ago to 340 units per day from 304 units” at the company’s plant in a Buenos Aires suburb, said Ford Argentina’s director of institutional relations, Jorge Di Nucci, told Reuters.
The unit builds the Focus car and Ranger pick-up truck in Argentina with 2,700 workers, after employing about 500 extra this year, and plans to increase local content, the report noted.
About 70% output is exported elsewhere in Latin America, predominantly to Mexico, Venezuela, Central America, Brazil and Chile, Reuters added.
