MotionIQ was built on Nexteer’s track record in safety-critical steering software. In fact, the algorithms behind it are already proven in more than 115 million vehicles on the road today. We designed the software suite with our customers’ challenges in mind, making sure it gives them the flexibility and tools they need to bring their software-defined vehicle strategies to life. Every OEM has its own way of approaching SDVs – some prefer to do everything in-house, while others look for more joint development. MotionIQ is designed to support both, which makes Nexteer not just a supplier, but a true software partner in intelligent motion control.
What are the main benefits?
For OEMs, Nexteer’s MotionIQ software suite delivers tools that accelerate chassis development, reduce costs and provide greater flexibility to design and integrate features in-house. For drivers, MotionIQ enhances the experience behind the wheel by enabling advanced safety, performance and comfort features that adapt to different vehicle types and driving conditions. It gives our OEM customers the tools to innovate, differentiate and deliver the experiences today’s drivers expect, all at greater speed.

By GlobalDataAs vehicles become more software-defined, integrating safety-critical systems like steering and braking has become much more complex. Nexteer’s MotionIQ software suite helps OEMs tackle those challenges by simplifying the chassis development process and giving them the flexibility to design and integrate their own steering and chassis control features in-house. We offer two distinct approaches for developing these features: Nexteer-led development tailored to OEM requirements, or OEM in-house development supported by Nexteer’s systems integration expertise every step of the way. In both cases, we help OEMs move faster, lower costs and deliver vehicles with superior safety, performance and brand differentiation.
How does it impact the industry trend towards software-developed vehicles (SDVs)?
As the industry shifts toward software-defined vehicles, every OEM has its own software approach – from full in-house development to collaborative joint-development models. A common theme, though, is the desire for greater ownership of the software that defines their brand and sets them apart in the market. Nexteer’s MotionIQ software suite supports this shift by giving OEMs the flexibility to design and integrate their own steering and chassis control features in-house. This allows OEMs to innovate on their terms, accelerate development for speed-to-market and deliver driving experiences that differentiate their brands.
