Intelligent power management firm Eaton has joined forces with US electric vehicle (EV) charging operator ChargePoint to introduce an “ultrafast charging architecture” designed to support public charging and fleet operations.
The new offering, named ChargePoint Express Grid and powered by Eaton, is equipped with vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capabilities and can deliver 600kW of power, catering to the needs of passenger EVs.

The collaboration between ChargePoint’s Express chargers and Eaton’s electrical solutions help overcome grid constraints.
The system utilises Eaton’s “Everything as a Grid” strategy and the integrated V2X technology and is engineered to harmonise on-site renewable energy sources, energy storage systems, and vehicle batteries with local energy markets, aimed at assisting fleet operators in decreasing fuel expenditures.
With the potential to be deployed on a larger scale in collaboration with participating utilities, this joint charging architecture could play a significant role in stabilising the electric grid.
Eaton said that it will offer a tailored engineering service for each Express configuration, ensuring that the power infrastructure is delivered ready for installation.

ChargePoint CEO Rick Wilmer said: “The new ChargePoint Express architecture, and particularly the Express Grid variant, will take DC fast charging to levels of performance and cost not previously imagined.
“This latest technological breakthrough further demonstrates our commitment to deliver innovation. Combined with Eaton’s end-to-end grid capabilities, ChargePoint is delivering solutions to help EVs win on pure economics, regardless of tax incentives or government support.”
The ChargePoint Express Grid is set to make its debut at the upcoming RE+ trade show in Las Vegas, US.
The Express solutions will be available for pre-order to a select group of customers in the first quarter of 2026 across Europe and North America, with deliveries expected to commence in the latter half of the same year.
In March 2025, ChargePoint deployed five ultra-fast charging stations in upstate New York, improving the availability of dependable public charging infrastructure.
