StarPower was already a significant producer of automotive power semiconductors before the joint venture was established, supplying around 1.2 million modules to the local automotive industry in 2022. The new joint venture is expected to strengthen the company’s position within the automotive industry, while providing Deepal with a reliable, in-house supply of critical parts.

Changan Automobile, including its Avatr, Qiyuan, and Deepal brands, sold a total of 2.683 million vehicles globally in 2024, including 244,000 Deepal-branded models. For 2025, Deepal has set a target of around 400,000 global sales.
