Seeing Machines has signed a referral agreement with Mitsubishi Electric Europe, a move they say is poised to enhance driver safety across Europe.

This partnership comes at a time when the automakers gear up to adhere to the European Union’s (EU) new Vehicle General Safety Regulations (GSR), which require the direct diver monitoring system (DMS) technology usage to mitigate the dangers of distracted driving.

It aims to utilise Mitsubishi Electric’s direct connections with truck and bus original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for promoting Seeing Machines’ Guardian Generation 3 as an “industry-leading” solution for meeting the requirements of advanced driver distraction warning (ADDW) system under the EU’s GSR.

Mitsubishi Electric Europe will partner with Seeing Machines initially to utilise its fleet connections.

These include logistics, distribution, and maintenance channels to expedite sales of Guardian Generation 3 solution, tailored to safeguard drivers from drowsiness and distraction risk.

Furthermore, this collaboration is anticipated to broaden the reach of the Guardian Generation 3 business into other potential sectors, such as rail, by tapping into Mitsubishi Electric Europe’s market presence in these areas.
