This expansion follows recent openings, including Polestar Adelaide and an flagship space in Sydney.

Polestar plans to move the Port Melbourne test drive and handover centre to South Yarra, and relocate Alexandria Space in Sydney to Rushcutters Bay.

Additionally, Polestar Perth is set to receive an upgrade, providing West Australian customers with a Polestar Space experience.

This network expansion is part of Polestar’s global transition to an active selling model, simplifying the process for customers to test drive and purchase vehicles both online and in-store.

Collaborating with partners, Polestar aims to increase its retail network by 75% by 2026.

The company said its Australian customers also benefit from 14 service partner points at Volvo Service Centres nationwide for maintenance and accessories.

Polestar Australia head Scott Maynard said: “This year will be the biggest yet for Polestar Australia, and our expanded retail network is a key reason.

“Our expansion into Penrith and Geelong, along with the relocation of key city sites, is putting Polestar in front of more people in more places.”

In 2024, Polestar broadened its model range in Australia with two new electric SUVs, the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, joining the fully electric Polestar 2.

The Polestar 3 is a large luxury electric SUV with two “Long range Dual motor variants”, and a “Long range Single motor variant” is expected in 2025, promising over 700km range on the WLTP cycle.

The Polestar 4 combines coupe aesthetics with SUV practicality, featuring a unique design without a rear windscreen and a high-definition rear-facing camera feed, boasting a 0-100km/h time of just 3.8 seconds.

Recently, Polestar secured additional loan funding of up to $450m and renewed its green trade finance facility to €480m.

Polestar plans to launch the Polestar 5 GT in 2025, followed by the Polestar 6 roadster and Polestar 7 compact SUV.

Currently manufacturing in North America and Asia, the company aims to expand production to Europe for the Polestar 7.
