American Honda Motor Company, the US unit of Japan’s Honda Motor Company, reported a 3% sales decline to 107,011 units in February 2025 from 110,110 units a year earlier, resulting in just a slight increase in year-to-date sales to 203,785 units from 203,320 units previously.
Sales of Honda-branded vehicles increased by 0.5% to 185,771 units year-to-date, while the Acura premium brand saw its sales drop by over 2% to 18,014 units. The company mainly sells locally-made vehicles in the US, with imports plunging by 26% to 931 units in the two-month period according to the company.

The CR-V SUV remains the company’s best-selling model in the US, albeit with sales falling by just over 1% to 57,738 units year-to-date, followed by the Civic with a 6% decline to 34,351 units, while sales of the HRV rose by 5% to 25,301 units and sales of the recently-launched Passport rose by 28% to 6,140 units.
In January the automaker said it was targeting a 6% sales rise in US sales to 1,510,000 vehicles in 2025, after volumes grew by 9% to 1,423,857 in 2024.
The automaker plans to launch the new Acura ADX in the first half of 2025, while a new Acura RSX battery-powered SUV – based on the Acura Performance EV Concept, is scheduled to go into production in Ohio by the end of 2025. The Integra will also get a facelift this year to help maintain strong sales.
In 2026, the company also plans to put into production in Ohio two new 0-Series battery electric vehicle (BEV) models it unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January.
