The IHS Vehicle Information Service is the first product to integrate top automotive company standards, international standards and industry standards into one product. Vehicle Information Services includes standards from the following: ASTM, Delphi-I, Delta Motor, Ford, GM North America, GM do Brasil, Holden, Navistar, New Holland and OPEL, in which IHS is the exclusive or primary distributor. Standards from other organizations will be added as they become available.

All documents are updated daily in the Vehicle Information Service and are PDF-based for full text searching. The PDF format also allows for faster downloading and enhanced options for printing and data manipulation. Search results are displayed with document summaries, allowing users to quickly find a specific document or obtain a fast overview of relevant standards information. Referenced standards are extracted for quick identification with hypertext-links to provide quick access to applicable supporting documents. A separate column lists the referenced standards within a document to allow finding and linking the right standard faster and easier than ever before.

“With the Vehicle Information Service, engineers and other professionals in the automotive industry now have the ability to conduct very targeted, powerful searches on the web to quickly and easily obtain specific standards information to aid them in the design process,” said Ken Timbers, president of IHS Engineering.

Paul Wrona, materials engineer for Eaton Group, echoed Timbers statement. “The Vehicle Information Service product makes my job easier by providing more complete and readily accessible information for Ford and GM material standards.”
