American Honda Motor Company, the US unit of Japan’s Honda Motor Company, said it expects its sales to rise by around 6% to 1,510,000 vehicles in 2025 after growing by 9% to 1,423,857 in 2024.
The company pointed out that its sales last year were lifted by an “easing of production constraints”, allowing for a “steady pipeline of products” to be delivered to dealers. The CRV mid-size SUV was its best-selling model last year with 402,791 sales, of which 50% were hybrids.
The company is forecasting moderate growth for 2025, supported by a “balanced product lineup that includes multiple hybrid models, electrified SUVs and all-new internal combustion engine (ICE) products.” It is targeting sales of Honda-branded models to reach 1.35 million units, with a further 160,000 units under the Acura brand.
In terms of new models, the company is scheduled to launch the all-new Passport and Passport TrailSport in February, while the CR-V and HR-V models will get upgrades later in the year. An all-new Prelude sports coupe will also return to the line-up by the end of the year, featuring a “sporty” hybrid powertrain.
The automaker plans to launch the new Acura ADX in the first half of 2025, while a new Acura RSX battery-powered SUV – based on the Acura Performance EV Concept, is scheduled to go into production in Ohio by the end of 2025. The Integra will also get a facelift this year to help maintain strong sales.
In 2026, the company also plans to put into production in Ohio the two new 0 Series battery electric vehicle (BEV) models it unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this month.

By GlobalDataAmerican Honda Motor’s Vice President of Sales, Lance Woelfer, told reporters: “In 2024, the Honda brand gained market share across the board, and Acura gained 7% in the second half of the year”, adding that the company aims to “continue to capitalize on our flexible strategy of growing hybrid and light truck sales while building toward the production start of the Acura RSX all-electric SUV, our first original EV that will be made in our Honda EV Hub in Ohio later this year.”
Mr Woelfer further pointed out that Honda “believes electrification is best for personal mobility long-term but how we get to 100% BEV ultimately will be based on customer demand. That is why we pursued a smart, flexible strategy with our EV Hub in Ohio where we will have the ability to produce ICE, Hybrid and EV on the same line.”
