Guangzhou Honda, Honda Motor Company’s biggest joint venture in China, has announced plans to produce up to 250,000 cars next year apparently due to significantly rising local demand, Access Asia reported.

Output next year will be up from the 200,000 cars expected this year. According to the company in 2003 Guangzhou Honda’s sales doubled to 117,000 cars, making it the fourth-largest Sino-foreign car JV in terms of annual unit sales after Shanghai VW, First Automotive Works VW and Shanghai GM.
